“Our stay at the Van der Valk Hotel Bloemendal in Vaals, South Limburg, was truly exceptional. Four aspects of our visit far exceeded our expectations, ensuring that we will certainly be returning: 1. The 5-course meal: An absolutely phenomenal dining experience, complemented by truly outstanding service. 2. Hospitality: The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. 3. The Kennedy Suite: A fantastic room choice that we highly recommend. 4. Value: The price-to-quality ratio was exceptional. Additionally, the extensive selection of fine wines and whisky's was a wonderful highlight. We look forward to our next visit!”

“Stayed here two nights for a business trip. From the moment you turn off the main road to the hotel you're greeted with a wonderful view. The hotel is an old castle from the 18th century that has been modernised in a very tasteful way keeping many of the original features. The breakfast was great, castle room was very nice and tidy equipped witha coffe machine, hair dryer and TV. I had a room facing the gardens behind the castle and the view was very relaxing, facing the fountain and the cherry which happened to blossom during my stay. The Spa in the basement was opened recently before my stay and had been designed to a very high standard. It had 2 saunas one warmer and one which was a bit less warm. There is also a steam sauna, the steam sauna was a bit underwhelming as when you sat down in it it wasnt very warm. You have to stand in it to actually feel the warm steam. The pool / relax area is very nicely made with comfortable couches which you can recline and relax in after tiring yourself out with the various saunas. The only thing which deducted from the experience is that my room didnt have a bathrobe in it during the stay. When going to the staff to say this they basically said I had to pay extra for it. I know it was included in my package but had to do some back and forth with the reception to get them to realise it was included in my room. Convincing the reception staff to give me what I have paid for is not a very premium experience and no excuse was provided. Overall a minor thing in the complete impression of the hotel.”

“We stayed in the "Sauna suite", having a small sauna and jakuzi installation in the bathroom. 38m2 of a room, but only a single volume room were 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed were setup. For a suite i was expecting 2 separated spaces to be available for the kids and the parents to have some privacy. For 450 euros per night, the 2 kids should have also a real bed, not a sofa convertible bed for 2 persons with lower standards of comfort. When we arrived, the room was pretty hot, the warming surface in the bathroom was really hot to the touch. I lowered its thermostat to 3 from 5, then it closed off entirely and never turned back on for the next 3 days no matter what i did. Nothing was installed in the fridge of the room, no water nor any refreshments, you needed to go down to the bar or the reception to buy some. The public Sauna and Swimming pool installations were pretty nice though and the atmoshphere and temperature of the water and air very good. The building is old and you can see it in many corners, but very nice in general. Hotel bar was closing at 12.00, so we couldnt have any relaxation time drinking something afterhours when the kids go to bed. Breakfast was very good and high quality materials were used in its preparation. Nice espresso as well, hard to find in a hotel. Overall , nice stay but with some problems and lower grade offerings as far as the suite room was concerned.”

“Very nice place to stay; spacious rooms and friendly service. Very beautiful clean spa which you can use freely with your stay. Everything is easy to figure out; our stay was comfortable. The restaurant is nice, but not suitable for a low key dinner or bite. The breakfast was also good. There are cafes and restaurants around, if you walk 10 minutes towards the center of the village. We’d stay there again.”
